UHPC, the surface ultra-high-strength material, started abroad, but has gradually been developed to new heights by designers in China!
In this city built of reinforced concrete
Mention concrete, a common building material
Many people will look down upon it
What I want to talk about today is still a kind of
Very classy concrete
Many Pritzker Prize winners and world architects
Including Zaha Hadid, Frank Gehry
Jean Nouvel, Rudy Rizzioti,
Jacques Ferrier, Kengo Kuma, etc. are all its fans
Let’s start with Kumako’s case as an appetizer.
Let’s see if any of my friends recognize it at first glance~
(ps. This issue is not about wood)
- Sao Paulo Japanese House -
The project was completed by Kengo Kuma in collaboration with the local FGMF office. It is called "Floating Fish Scales" and is a building that integrates art, technology and commerce.
The most representative of this design is
the façade presents a regular curtain made of wood
Entering into a dialogue with the hollowed-out UHPC facade
Fills people with unlimited imagination
Yes!
UHPC is our male pig’s trotter today
But!
UHPC and PC are two completely different materials
The dry goods will be presented immediately, don’t doze off
ultra high performance concrete
(UHPC)
Ultra-High Performance Concrete, referred to as UHPC (Ultra-High Performance Concrete), is also called Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC). UHPC is an ultra-high strength cement-based material with high strength, high toughness and low porosity. Its basic formulation principle is to minimize the pores and micro-cracks inside the material by improving the fineness and activity of the tissue components without using coarse aggregate to obtain ultra-high strength and high durability.
UHPC is different from ordinary concrete or high-performance concrete in that silica fume and fiber must be used, and coarse aggregate is not used; the amount of cement is larger and the water-cement ratio is very low.
Since it is called "ultra-high performance concrete", in what aspects is it "ultra-high"?
Ultra-high durability
Ultra-high hollowing rate
Ultra-high mechanical properties
(Compression resistance, tensile strength and high toughness)
Material properties
(1) Ultra-high durability: The special formula of UHPC can regularly arrange the material molecules so that the product has extremely low penetration and extremely high durability.
(2) Self-healing ability: The low porosity of UHPC’s steel microfibers can prevent corrosion and oxidation. When damaged, UHPC can "regenerate". The re-healing of micro-cracks is due to the self-healing properties of UHPC, which uses the humidity in the air to further hydrate.
(3) Superior working performance: It can resist external forces and natural environmental damage such as friction, fire, freeze-thaw, hail, and has efficient waterproof performance, which makes it an efficient external thermal insulation material.
(4) Unique decorative properties: The product surface has a high smoothness, and it is difficult for harmful external media to invade into UHPC, so it has a strong self-cleaning ability.
In addition to its superior physical properties
UHPC can make almost any shape
Various special shapes can be produced, from flat to hollow to curved surfaces.
Therefore, it is favored by masters
△Different texture effects
△Hollowout
The texture pattern presented on the surface can be freely displayed
The lightweight nature of UHPC can also make it
Easily produced and installed over a wide range of applications
In fact, UHPC was mostly used in early
bridge traffic engineering
Later, it shone brightly among the works of the world's architectural masters.
making it an architectural classic
